Skatepark Overview
Birmingham CityWalk Skatepark is the centerpiece of City Walk BHAM, a multi-use public space built beneath the elevated I-59/I-20 downtown corridor. Opened in 2023, the skatepark immediately became a regional destination thanks to its enormous footprint and diverse terrain designed and built by Team Pain Skateparks, one of the most respected skatepark builders in the world.
The park features a competition-caliber street section, a sprawling flow course, and a variety of transition zones, including multiple bowls ranging from beginner-friendly depths to advanced vert-style pockets. A long, winding snake run connects sections of the park, adding speed and rhythm lines that appeal to riders who enjoy pumping and carving. Rails, hubbas, ledges, banks, euro gaps, and manual pads round out the extensive street offerings.
The under-the-interstate setting adds a unique urban character while providing consistent shade—especially welcome during Alabama summers. With free entry, nighttime lighting, and its location just steps from downtown, CityWalk Skatepark is accessible to both local skaters and traveling riders looking for a high-quality, all-day skate destination.
Since opening, the park has hosted competitions, demos, and community events, quickly emerging as a vibrant hub for Birmingham’s growing skate scene. Its size and variety make it one of the most complete public skateparks in the region.
