Arthur Johnson Skatepark Overview

Arthur Johnson Skatepark is one of two skateparks in Gardena, along with Rowley Park Skatepark. Designed by Spohn Ranch Skateparks, the 7,000-square-foot park opened in 2012.
The skatepark is within Arthur Lee Johnson Memorial Park and is located next to two basketball courts. The skatepark is essentially a large rectangle with two tiers, the taller one wrapping around the lower center level.

The skatepark’s notable features include a curved China bank, a Euro gap up to a manual pad/ledge, and stairs with a handrail and hubbas.

One cool design touch is that triangles are a repetitive theme, and the black stain in the concrete helps break up the features visually.

Several skateboard companies are headquartered nearby, so it’s not uncommon to see some high-level skate talent at Arthur Johnson Skatepark.
