Skatepark Overview

The Dorian Zev Kweller Memorial Skatepark was developed through a decade-long community effort led by Dripping Springs Skatepark Inc., which began organizing local skate nights in 2014 and hosted its first design input sessions in 2019. Funding came from private donations, the Hays County parks bond passed in 2022, and a contribution from the City of Dripping Springs for park amenities. The park opened on August 27, 2024, with a large community celebration.

The park is triangular in shape and set within a wooded section of Founders Park, with a sidewalk from the parking lot winding through the trees to the skating area. A separate path leads to a viewing and seating area at the park entrance.

The centerpiece of the park is a multi-banked central feature with platforms at varying heights, providing a hub for lines and combinations. Surrounding it, the park offers a wide variety of street features including ledges, a bank-to-curb, a bank-to-ledge, and the “Lot 11 Bank” complete with its own rail and ledges. A round flat bar and additional rails provide grinding options throughout the park.
