Sagae Skatepark Overview
Sagae Skatepark is located on the outskirts of the city of Yamagata, in Japan’s Yamagata Prefecture. The park is located in the north of the main island of Honshu, about 180 miles north of Tokyo.
What’s amazing about this park is that such a massive facility is situated in a smaller prefectural city and not Tokyo or Osaka. Then again, maybe the less urban setting made land more available.
I wasn’t able to find any information about who designed and built the park or the precise square footage. But suffice it to say that was an ambitious build.
Sagae Skatepark has big vert bowls, sprawling street plazas, and all sorts of transitioned and banked flow sections.
