Simi Valley Skatepark Overview
Simi Valley Skatepark, designed and built by American Ramp Company, opened in 2020 and is the only skatepark in the city, which is known as a technology industry hub.
The park is an in-ground concrete street plaza located in Berylwood Park that is free for public use. Simi Valley is located in Ventura County, north of the greater Los Angeles metropolitan region.
The skatepark is triangular in overall shape, with quarter pipes at each corner of the triangle, providing a way to gain speed as skaters head for the skate features in the middle of the park.
Simi Valley Skatepark is designed with lots of room for mixing up both flat ground tricks and hitting the various obstacles. There are two levels (the decks of the quarterpipes not included) with the higher sections near the corners and a deeper channel running through the center of the park.
The parks features include banks, ledges, flat rails, hubbas and stairs, among other things.
The skatepark, which is open from 8 am to 8 pm each day, is managed by the Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District. The park’s address is 1955 Bridget Avenue, Simi Valley, CA 93065.
About Simi Valley
Simi Valley is a city in Ventura County, California, United States. It is located in the eponymous valley, surrounded by the Santa Susana Mountains. The population was estimated to be 124,237 in 2019, up from 122,803 at the 2010 census. Simi Valley is home to many high-tech and aerospace industries.
The name “Simi” derives from the Chumash word Shimiyukim, meaning the stringy, filamentous clouds that typify the region. Rancho Simi was established in the area around 1810. Spanish Colonial land grants were confirmations by the state of California of title granted earlier by individual members of the dioceses of Santa Barbara and Monterey.
