Black Diamond Skatepark Overview
Located in Black Diamond, Washington, a town in King County, Black Diamond Skatepark is being remodeled and expanded in 2022.
Originally built in 2007, the popular skatepark’s modular ramps and other features had fallen into disrepair and were deemed dangerous by city park officials.
“In the past few years, portions of the skate park structure have been coming apart causing hazards to the skateboard park users,” they wrote. Unable to obtain repair parts and replacement for the modular ramps, the city opted to rebuild the park as a modern concrete facility. They hired Seattle-based Grindline Skateparks to redesign the park.
Grindline shared a new design concept on Instagram and, if that’s what they build, it looks like the local skaters won the lottery. The park features two flow bowl sections and a large street plaza with ample transition features incorporated into the design.
