Gulfport Skatepark Overview
The Gulfport Skatepark is an above-ground skatepark with many transitions and street elements that skaters living or visiting the Gulfport area enjoy skating. The smaller skatepark does a good job of having many features without overcrowding.
At either end of the park, there are two large quarter pipes that sit across from each other with plenty of space between them. Drop in on the farside quarterpipe and either go to the middle where you will find an A-frame with a matching rail.
Many skaters love the location of the A-frame and rail combination because they can get incredible speed from the quarterpipe before they approach the rail. The rail could be considered a bit high for newer skaters, however, there is also a smaller flat rail in the park that is easier to learn on.
On one edge of the park, you will find a smooth manual pad with two upper ledges. The manual pad is great for ollying on and off, holding manuals across the surface, or use it as a platform to reach the two upper ledges that are smooth and ready for grinds and slides.
One the other side of the park you will find two more large quarterpipe structures and a roll-in. One of the large ramps is a three-faced mesa-shaped quarterpipe and the other contains a nice curve with solid concave for skaters to turn around and drop back down into the street plaza. Both have hips that are great for airing over.
The park is located right near the beautiful white sand beaches of Gulfport. There are picnic tables, shade areas, and plenty of space for friends and family to gather, skate, and spectate.
The Gulfport Skatepark was constructed through a collaborative effort between the Town of Gulfport, the Pivot Custom design team, and the American Ramp Company. The American Ramp Company is well-known for its galvanized steel frames and wood/phenolic surfaced above-ground skateboard ramps.
Pivot Custom works in conjunction with American Ramp Company on skateparks across 45 different countries and they have been in business since 1998. The company boasts over 3500+ projects completed across those 45 countries.
