Wichita Falls Skatepark Overview

One of the main features of the Wichita Falls Skatepark that skaters from all over North Texas and Southern Oklahoma appreciate is the massive half pipe that is kind of hidden away inside of a massive multi-featured bowl.

The half-pipe goes beyond vert to create an intimidating skate feature worthy of only the bravest skaters. The half pipe is not that wide as it sits elevated above the deep pocket bowl that it feeds into. The deep pocket bowl contains 10-foot walls that can help skaters achieve some massive speed and catch incredible amounts of air.

On the other side of the half-pipe, there are several other shallower pocket bowls and a nice tall quarterpipe. In this section of the massive multi-feature bowl structure, you can find skaters of all skill types flowing back and forth gaining the experience they need to tackle the large half pipe and the 10-foot bowl section.

The street plaza section is as equally impressive as the bowl and halfpipe combination located on the opposite side of the park. There is one giant elongated quarter pipe that feeds directly into a whole run of ledges, manual pads, a fun box, and plenty of banks to roll up on.

One of the best features of the street plaza section is the extra wide fun box with a beautiful and long flat rail. Many skaters love to get as much speed as they can before the flat rail to try to see if they can boardslide the entire length of the rail. You will frequently find skaters conjugated on top of the fun box cheering on their friends as they try to maintain their board slides for as long as possible before popping off at the end to a roar of applause.

The entire skatepark is decorated with various graffitis and street art giving an urban skate vibe right in the middle of the small town of Wichita Falls. The park is well-lit and is open seven days a week until midnight.

All skaters are required to wear an approved helmet and knee pads, elbow pads, and wrist guards are highly recommended. Any skaters under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 17 and children under 6 are not permitted to use the park unless there is a city-sponsored event specifically for that age group.
