La Colonia Skatepark Overview
La Colonia Skatepark, which officially opened in April 2019, is located in Solana Beach, a well-healed San Diego coastal town north of Del Mar and south of Encinitas.
La Colonia Skatepark was designed by SITE Design Group and built by California Skateparks. There are some features that are reminiscent of other SITE Design parks in San Diego, especially Linda Vista Skatepark.
The 5,500-square-foot park is a rectangular street plaza with some transitioned elements mixed in, including a bowl pocket/quarterpipe combo that boxes in one side of the park.
The Solana Beach skatepark also includes a three-stair with low handrails, a four stair with hubbas, a China bank, a flat rail, banks, another quarterpipe, and China bank-style feature with a curved top.
