Skatepark Overview
The City of Ventura, California, has approved a design for a new skatepark by Grindline Skateparks to expand the existing skatepark’s size from a modest 3,200 square feet to an impressive 20,000 square feet, marking a six-fold increase.
The new design offers significantly more features than the current park and should please both street skaters and transition skaters – and especially those who like to mix it up.
Built in a large L shape, the skatepark will have bowls at opposing corners: an ameoba bowl that looks to be in the 8 to 10 foot range in the deep end stakes out one corner; the other features a large flow bowl that connects to a snake run.
The street plaza has just about anything you can think of: rails, ledges, banks, China banks, hubbas, quarter pipes, pipe jam, hips, and so on.
